Initially, the Federation operated at its own property at Jonsim Place in Wanchai. Expansion in 1998 saw the opening of a club house and a training centre there. The Federation was granted a lease of land by the Hong Kong Government and subsequently built the ¡§HKFW Nina Kung Service Centre¡¨ in the late 1999 to serve women and the general public in Hong Kong.
This Centre was named after Madam Nina Kung, our Honorary President, who generously donated 5 million dollars for this project immediately after the Government grant of the land came through. The Federation offers its gratitude to Madam Kung for her prompt action and generosity. The architectural design was volunteered by the architect Ms Wailee Chow. Furthermore donations were received from members and funds were raised from Fund Raising Campaigns.
Altogether, a total of over 7.5 million dollars was raised for the construction and fixture. These enabled more and more services to be provided.
