The Honourable Ms. Starry Lee,
J.P.,
Member of the Legislative Council

The Honourable Ms. Starry Lee, an accountant by profession, is currently a non-official Member of the Executive Council of the HKSAR and a Member of the Legislative Council of the HKSAR. Ms. Lee is also the chairperson of the Financial Affairs Panel of the Legislative Council, member of the Education Panel, Constitutional Affairs Panel, Home Affairs Panel, and the Administration of Justice and Legal Services Panel.

Ms. Lee believes in democracy and wishes to build a better Hong Kong by participating in direct elections. She was first elected as a District Council Member in the Kowloon City District in 2000, and she succeeded in being re-elected to the same District Council constituency in the 2004, 2008 and 2012 District Council elections.

In 2008, she participated in the elections of the Fourth Legislative Council election of the HKSAR and won a seat in the Kowloon West Geographical Constituency.In 2012, she was returned to the Fifth Legislative Council through the first ever and highly competitive election of "Super District Councillors" elected by voters from all over Hong Kong.

As the youngest female Legislative Councillor, Ms. Lee is dedicated to the raising of education standards and the building of a harmonious and upward moving society in Hong Kong.

Over the past 10 years, Ms. Lee has extensive experience in serving on various Government advisory boards.She is currently a director of the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, a non-executive director of the Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited and a member of the Insurance Advisory Committee.

Ms. Lee is also a vice-chairperson of Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB) and she is the spokesperson on financial affairs and education affairs of DAB.

Ms. Lee has been in the accountant profession for over 10 years. She graduated from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 1996 with a BBA degree in Accounting, and she received an MBA degree from the University of Manchester in 2010.
