In response to the appeal from the Hong Kong SAR government to join hands in building a harmonious community, HKFW has started the Mediation Service for general public.

The HKFW T.S. Kwok Service Centre (the Centre) is conveniently located Wanchai, adjacent to Causeway Bay. The Centre is one-single floor with a variety of facilities: conference hall, display gallery, secretariat office, training room, computer room and lounge area , suitable for organizing conferences, lectures, seminars, training, exhibitions and ceremonies and other diversified activities.

To support the increasing demand for Mediation services, the Centre provides an ideal and comfortable environment with administrative support to those in need of the service.

1. What is MEDIATION?
Mediation is a specialized area of skill and knowledge for the resolution of commercial and community disputes. It is a voluntary and confidential process in which a neutral third party, called a mediator, helps disputing parties to reach a consensual settlement, by identifying a mutually acceptable solution to their conflict that will accommodate their needs. Decisions are made by the parties, the mediator only facilitates the process.

If an agreement is reach, it is usually confirmed by court order.

2. What are the Advantages of using Mediation?
The process is voluntary, confidential and impartial. The mediator does not adjudicate. During the process, the well trained and experienced mediator, will employ a mixture of facilitative and solution-focused techniques to help the parties generate settlement options. Mediation aims at Win-Win solution. Most of the disputing parties retain better relationship through mediation. In general, the parties may reach their settlement agreement with the help of the mediator.
